1 Introduction
This Operation Manual outlines the core functionalities of the liberoMANAGER software. Additional advanced features, such as ERP integration, productor kit-based views with multi-device allocation, and automated assessment workflows, are available depending on the specific system configuration.
1.1 Software liberoMANAGER
liberoMANAGER is a cloud-based service for collecting, analyzing, assessing, automatically managing, and archiving shipment and monitoring data from ELPRO devices. It supports both:
PDF Logger Workflows (LIBERO Cx)
Real-Time Monitoring (LIBERO Gx Series)
Key functionalities of liberoMANAGER include:
Centralized collection of data from PDF reports and real-time monitoring devices
Real-time display and analysis of shipment data from LIBERO Gx devices including temperature, humidity, and geolocation data
Process the original PDF reports of the LIBERO Cx.
Centrally collect PDF reports by e-Mail or upload
Sending automated reply emails and notifications
Automatic forwarding of alarm reports
Tracking of shipment and product statuses
Automated and manual assessments with creation of PDF Assessment Reports
Edit shipments and loggers (editing of index data, update statuses)
Flow liberoMANAGER with LIBERO Gx real-time Data Loggers
Flow liberoMANAGER with LIBERO Cx loggers with Software-Based Alarming
1.2 Involved Parties and responsibilities
1.2.1 Sender (e.g. Shipping Department / Logistics)
Generally responsible for preparing and configuring the loggers prior to shipment.
When using LIBERO Cx PDF loggers: Configures LIBERO loggers using SmartStart or liberoCONFIG
May use preconfigured loggers (optional, depending on process setup)
Depending on the process setup: Sends one or more SmartStart Configuration Reports (SSCRs) to liberoMANAGER via email
Initiates "Open Shipments" in liberoMANAGER
When operating with ERP integrations via API: Scans Logger IDs in ERP and initiates “open shipment” via API message
When using real-time LIBERO Gx loggers: Initiates “Open Shipment” in liberoMANAGER and configures the LOGGER directly in liberoMANAGER
Ensures the loggers are started correctly
For real-time loggers (LIBERO Gx), configuration is often combined with pairing to a shipment directly in liberoMANAGER, allowing immediate live tracking once activated.
1.2.2 Recipient (e.g. Receiving Site / Warehouse)
Ensures that loggers are stopped and read out or have an active service connection (for Gx loggers) at the destination.
For LIBERO Cx PDF loggers: Reads out loggers via USB and sends the original PDF reports to liberoMANAGER by email or manual upload
For LIBERO Gx real-time loggers: Stops the tracking directly on the logger. No manual upload is required, as measurement data is transmitted continuously during the shipment
1.2.3 Control Quality Assurance (QA)
Supervises shipment integrity and ensures compliance with quality requirements.
Monitors incoming alarm notifications for PDF reports or real-time excursions
Performs shipment and logger assessments in liberoMANAGER
Reviews and finalizes assessments, generating validated reports if needed
Manages open shipments by closing or updating them as appropriate
Edits shipment metadata (e.g., custom fields, statuses) where permitted
In the real-time monitoring flow, QA teams benefit from proactive visibility into excursions during transit, enabling faster response compared to the post-shipment assessments used for PDF loggers.
1.3 Work process and Reports
liberoMANAGER allows monitoring and logging of the entire shipment process. From shipment initiation (tracking open shipments), to receipt (saving and indexing of shipping results for evaluation) to the assessment of individual shipments and notification of the relevant parties, all steps are covered.
liberoMANAGER applies a strict data security framework, it prohibits processing or saving manipulated data or data derived from unqualified sources. For this reason liberoMANAGER uses different file formats and file types which are specified below.
1.3.1 Procedures in liberoMANAGER
As stated, liberoMANAGER offers functionalities across the entire shipment process. The monitoring, analysis, and assessment of shipments and loggers are structured across three logical levels. This layered approach ensures traceability from overview to detailed evaluation:
Level 1 - Shipment / Logger Overview
Provides a consolidated list of all shipments and associated loggers, including key metadata, statuses, and filterable views for efficient navigation. → ☐ 6 Shipments
Level 2 - Shipment Detail View
Displays all available information for a selected shipment, including logger assignments, status updates, measurement curves, attachments, and events. → ☐ 7 Shipment Details
Level 3 - Logger Assessment View
Enables the detailed reassessment of logger data, including adjustment of alarm profiles, time ranges, and generation of Assessment Reports. → ☐ 8 Assessment

1.3.3 Reports
Open Shipment
For configured LIBERO Cx PDF Loggers: During the configuration of the loggers with SmartStart by the sender, a report is created with all of the logger IDs used. Additional information entered during this process like shipment number, recipient, transportation mode and so on, are also documented in this report. The report is designated as the SmartStart Configuration Report (SSCR).
When the SSCR is sent in by Email or Upload, an “Open Shipment” is generated in liberoMANAGER. Each Shipment Number and the associated information are listed with the shipment release status "Open". All loggers are generated with the Logger ID in the respective shipment and listed under the shipment in the Detailed Shipment View.
For LIBERO Gx real-time loggers and LIBERO Cx Loggers with Software Based Alarming (SBA): As an alternative to configured PDF loggers, shipments can also be configured directly within liberoMANAGER, either for PDF loggers where the logger does not hold the metadata itself but is used for Software Based Alarming or for real-time devices such as the LIBERO Gx series.
When a shipment is created in liberoMANAGER, the user manually enters the relevant metadata (e.g., shipment number, recipient, transportation mode, custom fields) via the shipment creation interface. Loggers are then assigned to the shipment using their unique Logger IDs.
Once saved, the shipment receives the status "Open", and appears in the Detailed Shipment View, where all assigned loggers and entered metadata are listed.
Original PDF Report
When using a PDF logger, after stopping the logger and connecting it to a USB port, the original PDF report is automatically generated at the recipient’s location. The recipient must then submit this unmodified PDF report to liberoMANAGER either via email or manual upload if configured and the user has upload rights.
For shipments using real-time loggers, a general PDF report can be created within liberoMANAGER and extracted but with no metadata in the background.
If an “Open Shipment” already exists for the associated Logger ID, liberoMANAGER will automatically link the report and update the shipment and logger statuses. If no matching open shipment is found, a new shipment is created using the metadata from the PDF report.
In both cases, the original PDF report is securely archived in liberoMANAGER to ensure traceability and compliance.
Assessment report
The Assessment Report is generated based on a reassessment of the recorded shipment data, which may include the application of an extended Stability Budget or adjusted start/stop times.
This process is supported for both PDF loggers and real-time loggers (e.g., LIBERO Gx). The resulting report is saved as a PDF and automatically linked to the corresponding logger within liberoMANAGER.
Upon saving or approval, both the logger status and the shipment status are updated accordingly, ensuring data consistency and full traceability.
Additional assessments liberoMANAGER package for elproVIEWER
With elproVIEWER Professional, additional assessments can be carried out. To this purpose the index data and the PDF reports of the selected Shipments / Loggers are exported into an elproLMP. Additional assessments are:
Superimpose: A simple way to compare measurement curves from different and even time-delayed original PDF reports is to superimpose them in the graphic displayed.
Join: This function joins measurement curves from several original PDF reports to form a single curve.
Shipment Report
Comprehensive PDF report summarizing all shipment data stored in liberoMANAGER, including metadata, logger assignments, and status details. The report can be downloaded directly from within the shipment detail view inside application.
